Happy New Year from me and my team at Inspired Chick! I am checking in to wish you all a blessed and prosperous New Year, tell you a bit about yesterday and share this awesome party hat cupcake hack I used for my New Year’s Dessert! But first, can we talk about the adorable mommy-and-me Inspired Chick apron my friend Meg gifted me!!! Gosh- cooking with Brielle is going to be even more special!
Our New Year’s Day family tradition is to go to my parent’s house where my father makes his famous prime rib and my mom makes the popular side dishes African American families tend to bring in the New Year with like black-eyed-peas (which are said to bring you good luck) as well as collard greens and mac-and-cheese! I made homemade parker rolls and chocolate cupcakes topped with party hats.
Speaking of the party-hat cupcakes- LET ME SHARE THE HACK TO MAKE THEM.
DIRECTIONS:
MAKE YOUR FAVORITE CUPCAKES TOPPED WITH BUTTERCEAM ICING. SET ASIDE. USE A BUTTERKNIFE TO SPREAD BUTTERCREAM ICING ON A SUGAR ICE CREAM CONE AND THEN ROLL THE ICE CREAM CONE IN SUGAR SPRINKLES! FINALLY ADD MORE ICING TO THE TOP AND DECORATE WITH SMALL CANDY BALLS OR A DIFFERENT COLOR OF SUGAR SPRINKLES! THAT’S IT!
I used New Year’s colors as well as wrote 2020 on them in honor of the new decade, but these party hats can be decorated in colorful sprinkles for birthday parties as well!
