Good Vibes and Tan Lines- I’m so excited about sharing 7 Ways to Celebrate Summer at Terranea Resort. This is a sponsored post but as always, the opinions expressed are my own.
Although we were celebrating my birthday, we all quickly learned there were many unique offerings and events to keep the celebration going all summer long. Friends, you’ll want to save my itinerary as I share 7 Ways to Celebrate Summer at the Terranea Resort. But first I’ll need to tell you about our family accommodations.
The Casita
It felt just like home returning to the Terranea Resort situated on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Staff welcomed Errol and me with a glass of champagne and the kids with a Terranea Whale Stuffed Animal. We were completely blown away by our family accommodations which was a 2-bedroom ocean-view casita. You can view the casita offerings in my Instagram reel HERE.
Being over 2,000 sq. ft, the casita came with a dining area and full kitchen equipped with cookware and utensils. We loved the spacious living room with a pull-out couch that lead to the outdoor patio overlooking the Palos Verdes Peninsula. The parents’ wing featured a full bathroom, Cal King Bed as well as his-and-her robes and house shoes. The children’s wing had 2 full beds and a full bathroom as well. Last but not least, the laundry room which was situated to the left of the kitchen, came in handy with three kids. The accommodations were so perfect for the 5 of us.
In the past when we’ve brought the kids to the Terranea we stayed in connecting rooms with a similar setup where Errol and I had a king bed and the kid’s room had 2 full beds. So, there are several options for family accommodations at Terranea Resort.
Sea Harvest Tasting
We brought along our nanny this trip because there were lots of adult-only activities Errol and I intended to enjoy as a couple. After we arrived, our nanny took the kids to the pool while Errol ad I were whisked away to a private preview of Terranea’s Sea Harvest tasting set to debut on July 2nd.
When you book a Sea Harvest tasting, you join Terranea’s award-winning chefs for an intimate sea salt and kelp tasting, paired with farm-fresh produce, signature crafted bites, and sparkling ONEHOPE Wine, all while learning about the resort’s sea harvesting process. Terranea’s Sea Salt Conservatory is used to produce Terranea’s own signature sea salt using local seawater from the Pacific Ocean and to cure locally grown and foraged kelp.
Magic Show & Movie Nights at the Pool
With full bellies, we then joined the kids at the pool. Our kids were totally living their best life, splashing through the water pad, swimming in the pool, and zipping down the water slide. They had made friends at Terranea Resort and were engaged in a friendly game of foosball.
The icing on the cake is that we learned there was a magic show for kids at 1 & 3 pm right on the pool lawn. Blake got to be the magician’s victim and enjoyed every bit of having coins pulled out of both of his ears. There are also movie nights on Saturdays at 8 pm. While we intended to let the kids participate in movies at the pool, by 8 pm they were worn out and ready for bed.
Nelson’s Sound Series
After an afternoon at the pool, everyone was ready for dinner so we headed to Nelson’s for live music, an epic sunset along with a gorgeous ocean view. Nelson’s Sound Series will feature live entertainment from the South Bay on Friday and Saturdays where you can enjoy local craft beers, gourmet creations, and cool ocean breezes. That concluded our first-day celebrating summer at Terranea Resort.
Karaoke and Live Music
After dinner at Nelson’s, we put the kids to bed and headed to Karaoke at Bashi’s where I sang my heart out y’all. I had the audience going from wall to wall!! It was so fun! You can catch my musical performance in my reel HERE.
You can grab the mic too on Saturdays from 10 pm – 1 am.
We had a full first day at Terranea. Day 2 was a bit more relaxing, so keep reading on for 7 Ways to Celebrate Summer at Terranea Resort.
Weekend Waffle Station at Sea Beans
After a great night’s sleep, we got up and headed to Sea Beans, Terranea’s casual artisan café located in the main lobby courtyard for the weekend waffle bar. We thoroughly enjoyed our made-to-order waffles and the delicious (and kid-friendly toppings) along with the fried chicken. Perfect start to our day.
Cabana or Daybed
After breakfast, we relaxed in our cabana which came with a refreshing bowl of fruit, a large sectional couch, and a refrigerator stocked with refreshments. It was the perfect place to relax in the shade or take a nap. Please watch our reel sharing some of the fun at Terranea Resort.
Errol and I left the cabana for a few hours and had brunch at Marsels and relaxed at the adult pool and enjoyed some cocktails. We then gathered the children from the pool, changed clothes, and enjoyed a delicious dinner at Catalina Kitchen
S’mores
After dinner, we headed back to the resort pool with our smores kit and made the most beautiful memories roasting the night away! You can buy a s’mores kit at Terranea Resort and use one of their many firepits and make a classic summer dessert as the sun sets. Fridays through Labor Day, there will be s’mores making at the resort pool.
What an incredible kick-off to summer at Terrane Resort. For another summer adventure idea please check out my blog about Lake House Resort and Hotel.
All I can say is WOW!!!! I would love to stay at Tarranea resort. This looks like so much fun for not only the adults, but for the kids! What an awesome article, so detailed and informative. I have this on my list for summer things to do!!
These views are breathtaking! This looks like such a magical staycation. Thank you so much for sharing I’m excited to visit the Terranea
Thank you so much for sharing this and laying out all the details. I’ve always heard about Terrenea, but didn’t know how much fun it could be for the whole family. It is definitely worth visiting!
Beautiful family and great article! I have celebrated my last 2 birthdays there. One of the reasons it is my favorite place to go for staycations is because I discover something new every time I go there. The last time I was there, I enjoyed seeing 3 dolphins on my morning walk.
I never have felt that welcome when checking in, even when I stayed in the villas. What does a girl have to do, to be offered some champagne when checking in? Can’t wait to go again to check out some of the things you mentioned that I haven’t experienced yet.
