If you’re anything like me, planning a family vacation with little ones means juggling itineraries, packing, and finding a hotel that is kid-friendly and spacious enough for a family of 5! I want to save you the hours of looking for a family-friendly hotel, and bonus points because I found one near disneyland! I’m breaking down everything you’ll want to know—so you can skip the research and get to the fun part: packing the snacks and swimsuits!

From splashing down the waterslides to the delicious food, I would say this is one of the best places for a family vacation. If you’re looking for a family-friendly hotel that is spacious and surrounded by fun activities for the kids, let me tell you all about our trip.

We just came back from our trip to the Hyatt Regency in Irvine, and let me tell you—it checked ALL the boxes for our family of 5! With the newly remodeled, modern design and a spacious suite to unwind in, it’s safe to say we’ll be back!

The rooms at the Hyatt Regency Irvine are definitely made with families in mind making it one of the best places for a family vacation! The suite is super spacious—there’s even two private balconies which meant I could enjoy a cup of coffee in peace while the kids made themselves comfortable.

Our extended stay suite came with a full kitchenette that included a stove, dishwasher, and utensils so we can easily order some pizza and relax in the spacious living room after all our activities (which i’ll share more about later!) The suite offered two queen beds, two full bathrooms, and a pull-out sofa making the room spacious enough for a family of 6! You can tour the room here.

Between the pool oasis, water slide, cozy sun loungers, and on-site dining, there was plenty to enjoy without ever leaving the hotel! And at just about 25 minutes from Disneyland, it’s the perfect mix of comfort and convenience. One of the most important things for me when looking for a kid-friendly hotel is location! I want to make it as easy as possible to get from point A to point B on our itinerary of family fun, let’s break it down!

The hotel’s location was a WIN since it was just a short drive from a ton of fun spots like the next few!

Boomers Irvine– There was never a chance for the kids to say “I’m bored” because Boomers had us covered! From thrilling rides and classic bumper cars to splashing around on Splash Boats, testing your skills at mini golf, and racking up tickets in the arcade—there’s no shortage of fun! And the best part? The kids are off their screens and actually burning energy (win-win!). If you’re looking for an easy way to keep the whole family entertained, this is it!

Just 10 minutes away, you can also find the Irvine Spectrum where they currently have Outdoor Movie Experiences happening on select Saturday through April and May! You can honestly spend the whole day here with everything they have to offer for the whole family, from the Carousel, to the Ferris wheel, ice cream, and who doesn’t love shopping. There’s such a wide range of restaurants around the area as well, but we heard raving reviews about this next restaurant!

When we heard there was a restaurant located inside Hyatt Regency Irvine that offered an elevated dining experience, we knew it was the perfect spot for a date night! With our babysitter holding down the fort in our hotel room, we snuck downstairs for a much-needed night out. We started with cocktails and shrimp tacos, then I indulged in the filet & frites while Errol savored the sea bass. And let’s talk about dessert—Warehouse 72’s take on s’mores was next level! I share all about it in my Instagram Reel!

This was just another reason this hotel is one of the best places for a family vacation. And with the summer coming up, the Hyatt has everything you need for the perfect family getaway.

Let’s be real, traveling with kids isn’t always easy—but having a hotel that feels like it was designed for families, is a total game-changer. Whether you’re looking for a kid-friendly hotel near Disneyland or just want a relaxing weekend away that the whole family can enjoy, Hyatt Regency has you covered.
