Holiday Brunch Pancakes

Holiday Pancakes 

Feels like we’ve been non-stop on the holiday-go ever since Thanksgiving! Between the holiday parties, fireworks, potlucks, Christmas programs, company dinners and the day-to-day I haven’t had much time for my food photography hobby. 

It was especially nice yesterday to have a lazy Saturday and break out my William Sonoma pancake molds and make a festive breakfast for my family. These pancakes molds are great if you’re hosting a holiday brunch as well.  You can add buttons from icing to your gingerbread men, a red nose on the reindeer or just sprinkle them with a good douse of powdered sugar for presentation.

Using them is easy enough! Just lay the molds on a heated and greased griddle and pour your batter inside the molds. Reduce the heat to medium once the batter starts to bubble up nicely and the batter thickens lift the pancake mold handle up to remove the mold and flip the pancakes.

RECIPE

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 CUP OF FLOUR
  • 3 TABLESPOONS OF SUGAR
  • 1 TABLESPOON OF BAKING POWDER
  • A DASH OF SALT
  • 1 CUP OF MILK
  • 1 BEATEN EGG
  • 1/2 STICK OF BUTTER
  • 1 TABLESPOON OF VANILLA EXTRACT

DIRECTIONS: 

Combine and mix together the first 4 dry ingredients in a medium-sized bowl . Next mix together the next 4 wet ingredients in a large bowl. Pour the dry ingredients into the bowl of wet ingredients and mix them together. Pour the pancake batter into a measuring cup. Grease a griddle with cooking spray. Flip pancakes once they begin to bubble and thicken.
