A Dreamy Baby Shower & Nursery

A Dreamy Baby Shower & Nursery post thumbnail image

Hey there guys! These past few weeks have been absolutely crazy. Between being hospitalized for a few days due to being at risk of pre-term labor, trying to finish my cookbook before my daughter makes her arrival, the day-ins and outs of toddler-mom-life and my sweet baby shower- I just have not had much time for blogging! Speaking of my sweet baby shower I just have to share some of the pics here!

Gosh it was such a beautiful and dreamy day from the dessert table, videographer and even a soloist who serenaded me with my favorite Disney fairytale songs! Take me back!!! Just wished I could bottle up my baby shower and open it back up at my leisure. I can’t quite put into words how full my heart is from being showered with an abundance of love, support and gifts to complete our Brei’s nursery! You can watch a recap of the baby shower if you’d like here https://youtu.be/jBUa-G4ID5o.

Like I said, we were ready to take on the nursery after the baby shower! After just 8 days the nursery went up! I am so in love! Let me give you a peek!

We saved the backdrop from the dessert table to hang in the nursery- it worked out lovely! We also swapped out the brown light fixture that came with the house for an elegant & petite chandelier. Oh- here’s what it looked like when it was Bryce’s nursery!

Both of my boys had brown nurseries. I wanted a light, bright and feminine feel for Brielle. So went with a white upholstered crib and a white Hemnes Ikea dresser.

All of us have this same IKEA dresser. The boys both have brown ones and Errol & I have a white one. I love it because it’s very spacious and affordable. I gave Brielle’s dresser an easy and budget-friendly update by swapping out the original knobs for vintage knobs I got at a good price on Amazon. Here’s the dresser without the vintage knobs.

As for the Peony wall art decal, that came from Etsy!

Oh and I’d be remised if I didn’t brag on our sweet friend Missy who made framed scriptures for Brielle’s room and shipped them from Mississippi. I cried when I opened them. My heart is not just full- it’s overflowing! We bought the floating bookshelf ledges off of Amazon and had our handyman install them.

The last project I had to tackle was Brielle’s tiny closet. The closet really is a nuisance because it’s so narrow. Here’s what it looked like originally when I tried to move in the items from the baby shower.

Before Closet

The closet literally got me upset emotionally. It was just a mess. For less than $100 we were able to make it more functional and make better use of the tiny space we have.

After Closet

I added a another pole for the back so that I could add in the hanging closet I got from Target for just $17.00. I love the hanging closet because it gave me open drawers to store her baby blankets, baby carrier as well as diapers, wipes, and diaper genie bags. There’s so much room I can add more. I also purchased a 3- tier closet storage that came with two drawers- which also works out as a shoe rack. That only cost $20.00. Finally I bought oversized storage cubes from Amazon. For 4 of them it came to $25.00. My friend Tyann who has her own organization company recommended dry-erase-labels for the storage boxes- I bought all Target had LOL! I use them throughout the house not just for Brielle’s closet. Tyann had so many great suggestions, many of which I’ll save for later when we do a real closet makeover. For organization assistance hit up her business on Instagram @a_little_more_orgnized or shoot her an email at alittlemooreorganized@gmail.com.

Our hearts have been ready to welcome Brielle into our family and now our home is. Would you keep me in your prayers in the days and weeks to come? My hospital bag is packed. The Lord is so merciful that He has allowed me to carry this new little life and enjoy my baby shower and complete her nursery in spite of being at risk of going into an early labor. I’ll write more about that in an upcoming post!
