Ok- so I wish I had shared these pictures before Halloween. Time just completely got away from me. Both boys got sick- we were also in the throws of planning Brielle’s baby dedication (which I can’t wait to share those pictures with you all the day was just completely heaven-sent) and preparing for out of town family to stay with us so I forgot to share these pictures yawl.
You guys know our family tradition is that the boys can pick out their own costume for Trunk or Treat at school and church but we MUST do a family costume for ME! So glad my family “deals” with me LOL!!! So this year us Gorman’s took on Grease- which was so much fun! Errol felt like he won because the costumes were very practical- he and the boys can wear their converse and leather jackets throughout the year. And I got to be the Black Sandra Dee and dress up sweet Brielle as a Pink Lady! My dad even let us use his vintage car for our photo shoot!
As for Brielle- my mom and everyone else whose opinion I sought out insisted Brielle had to be a pumpkin for her first Halloween. I was struggling with it a bit because I felt like a pumpkin was just a bit boring to be quite honest. Until Pinterest inspired me to carve a pumpkin and sit Brielle inside! It worked ya’ll! I just could not believe Brielle let me do this to her- she did not cry and was quite comfortable inside a real pumpkin! Brielle’s costume was shared on, “After The Aisle” as well as, “Black Platinum Kids” Instagram Accounts.
And last but not least- my sweet boys were Black Spiderman and Red Spiderman. Even though the got really sick they begged me to take them to school for the costume parade for an hour. They also indulged at our church’s Harvest Festival! I now have more candy than anyone could ever want or need but that’s a whole other story! They had fun posing with the spooky spider webs I decorated the front yard with.
What were you this Halloween? Drop a line and let us know. I’ll just say this for general principle: for our family Halloween is simply a day to dress up and eat a little extra candy- nothing more. We celebrate in costume at school and church.
