Our family loves a good staycation! So when we asked our middle son Bryce if he wanted a birthday party or a staycation for his 4th birthday it’s no surprise what he chose! A trip to Legoland of course! We got an awesome Black Friday deal! It came with a two-night stay at the Legoland Hotel and two-day park passes for the entire family! It was the perfect kid-friendly staycation! “Everything is awesome,” we all agreed!
About Legoland Hotel
This was our first trip to the Legoland Hotel and here’s what we loved!
- THEMED ROOMS. Our kids love pirates. We just had a Peter-Pan themed birthday party for my eldest son Blake. The party included pirate booty and pirate decor of course! The kids were impressed with their separate sleeping quarters which came with bunk beds and pirate-themed everything.
- SPACIOUS SLEEPING QUARTERS. Separate sleeping quarters is a win for the parents too! We need our space and we got plenty of it! The hotel also provided a complementary pack-and-play for our baby.
- AMAZING FOOD. Ok I really can’t say enough about how AWESOME the food really is at the Legoland Hotel! First of all your hotel stay will come with a cooked-to-order breakfast buffet. Eat omelettes, drink fresh smoothies, try the chocolate-chip pancakes! There was so much fresh, delicious food to eat! I would also recommend the dinner all-you-can-eat buffet! For about $18 an adult and $13 per child you can eat salmon, shrimp, steak or roast, chicken and pork! The kids will feast on mac-n-cheese, pizza, tater-tots, fruit and veggies as well as lots of other kid-friendly foods. We could not wait to eat breakfast or dinner. I personally thanked the chef- seriously! Everything was AWESOME. A final perk was that the Legoland Cast Members join your family for dinner! Bryce would not stop hugging the Lego characters. Again, I have to say Legoland is the perfect kid-friendly staycation!
AWESOME CHARACTER DINING AT DINNER
- LOTS OF LEGOS. We enjoyed the Legos inside our room and throughout the hotel. Our room came with Legos to play with, free snacks as well as a treasure hunt. The hotel lobby has a huge Castle made out of legos and filled with legos to play with. The castle is conveniently situated right across from a bar where the parents can relax, have a drink or snacks and watch the big screen TV while keeping an eye on their kids.
- CONVENIENCE! This is one of the absolute best things about the Legoland hotel. It makes your trip easy and convenient. For starters when you exit the hotel you are at the Legoland entrance. So there is no need to walk a long distance or catch a shuttle. You can text the concierge for immediate assistance and they respond fast! We already mentioned that the food is right there, delicous, fresh and affordable! Everything is awesome. Finally you will be given early access to Legoland when you stay at the hotel. Legoland also has legos for kids to play with while you wait for rides.
Other Things to Do Near Legoland
- Go to the beach. We always stop at the Scenic Point exit off the 5 freeway which is only 15 minutes away from Legoland before checking in to the hotel. It’s a great way to experience the beach and take in a beautiful view.
- Head to the Carlsbad Flowerfields. I have been taking my kids here for the last 3 years. I love it. They are only open in the spring. Check it out HERE.
- VISIT DISNEYLAND OR CALIFORNIA ADVENTURES. Disneyland is only an hour away from Legoland. Being that we’re Disneyland Passholders we stop at Disneyland for a few hours when we are driving home from Legoland. We love Legoland. We’ve stayed at both hotels and my boys absolutely love it. Love their buffet and the awesome aquarium. Legoland is a must.
I took the kids to LegoLand last year and I’m thinking of going back this year. But this time staying at the LegoLand hotel. It was so fun and I had a good time seeing the kids super excited.
My guys 4th birthday is right around the corner. Too bad LEGOland is too far away. One day, though it looks amazing.
We love legoland but have never actually stayed at the hotel. Thanks for the tips and all the reviews. We definitely want to visit this summer
