This past week my family had the pleasure of being hosted with an unforgettable coastal safe-cation at the Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes! Things are different this year. Most families with children are homeschooling now to some degree while working from home. We are all bearing an extra load of responsibility and stress. Although everyone could use a break there’s a lot of anxiety about taking one! I have to say were so impressed with how the Terranea took every precaution to ensure safety while providing an unforgettable coastal safe-cation! We were celebrating our 9 year-wedding anniversary and it was an experience that we will cherish forever!
Day 1
Upon arrival for our stay, the Terranea gave all three kids whale stuffed animals which they LOVED. They provided safety packs with hand sanitizer and masks for everyone! We received a s’mores kit for the fire-side AND a HUGE kid’s club activity box. The activity box came with arts & crafts, a tile project, bubbles, cards, painting and more. It provided enough activities for three days to use in our room or social-distance style outside on one of the many lawns to keep the kids entertained during our stay. After swimming and making s’mores we dropped off the kids in the room with the babysitter where they ordered room service and watched a movie. Errol and I were so excited to get away for a kids-free dinner date at Nelsons!
Our wedding anniversary celebration gave me chills. The waves danced just for us under a gorgeously lit moon. We felt the Lord’s blessing resting upon us. It was truly an amazing start to our unforgettable coastal safe-cation!
Day 2
After an amazing night’s sleep, we started the day with a delicious breakfast at the Catalina Kitchen. The French toast is so rich! Next, Errol left to play a round of golf on the Links golf course while the kids and I enjoyed a falconry meet and greet! Everyone was required to wear masks and social distance which put me at ease. After that Errol got an early start relaxing with Brielle in the cabana and dipping in the pool while I took the kids to an epic tide pool guided adventure. We saw so much marine life and our tour guide taught the boys how to “skip” rocks in the ocean. We collected a variety of beautiful sea shells. Then the boys and I joined Errol back at the cabana and pool before dinner.
Day 3
We didn’t want our unforgettable coastal safe-cation to end but on the third day it was time to say, “goodbye.” We ordered in and enjoyed breakfast in the privacy of our connecting rooms. Errol and I took turns eating outside on the patio to enjoy the ocean views while the other parent supervised the kids. Our home-school activity was to write the staff a thank-you letter for all the thoughtful adventures that kept us safe and entertained. We truly had an unforgettable coastal safecation and we can’t wait to come back.

**Although we received comped travel and comped itinerary, the views represented in this blog post our sincerely my own.**
This looks like an amazing time! I love how they provided activity kits to keep the kids busy! Such a great personal touch!
