Guess where we traveled?!
Going on vacation means getting excited about a luxurious hotel stay, exploring the city, and, most importantly, the food! We were just hosted on an unforgettable couple’s trip to Texas that I have to share with you. If you’re wondering which part of Texas you should visit, I have the perfect place: Frisco, Texas.
One thing about Frisco, Texas, is you will never run out of things to do! There is an endless list of restaurants, activities, and events, so I’m sharing 5 Places To Visit in Texas. First on the list when booking your next Texas trip is finding the perfect hotel, and I have two unique options for you!
Where To Stay In Texas
Calling all Cowboys Fans!
We checked into the Omni Frisco Hotel at The Star, which serves as the cornerstone of the Star, a 91-acre entertainment district anchored by the Dallas Cowboys! We even got the chance to watch the Cowboys practice at Ford Center at the Star for free! You can watch the whole experience here. After such an unforgettable experience, we headed to The Edge waterside lounge to unwind and enjoy the breathtaking city.
The view was enough for me to book a stay at the Omni Frisco Hotel at The Star, but I especially enjoyed all of their amenities. Aside from having a Fitness Center, you can work out from the comfort of your room with a complimentary Get Fit Kit that comes with a five-pound kettlebell, mini contour weights, a muscle therapy foam roller, push-up bars, and a yoga mat! There is something for EVERYONE to enjoy, making this #1 on our list of places to visit in Texas.
My husband’s golf vacation dreams came true when he found out there were not one but TWO golf courses within the Omni PGA Frisco Resort. It was a surprise to learn that Omni PGA Frisco has the largest putting green in the country! You can see a tour of our stop at the resort on my stories. One of the experiences I found amusing was practicing after dark at The Swing, the lighted 10-hole, par-3 short course. If you’re looking for some more unique experiences in Texas, I have a whole list for you below.
THINGS TO DO IN TEXAS
Soccer Hall of Fame
I was blown away by the interactive and personalized experience that the National Soccer Hall of Fame had to offer! To start your experience, you get to create your own profile, so when you visit each exhibit, it’s a personalized experience made just for you! You can even see a walkthrough of the experience before you go!
If you are a hardcore soccer fan or just looking to learn more about the game, there is so much history and iconic soccer memorabilia to see at the National Soccer Hall of Fame. From building your national team to creating your own scarf, I loved how interactive the whole experience was. I would definitely put this as #2 on the list of places to visit in Texas for a perfect date night, and the best part is on Wednesdays, admission is only $5. You really can’t beat that!
National Videogame Museum
This next museum was a walk down memory lane! The National Videogame Museum is an interactive experience where we saw a Timeline of Consoles and even the legendary Apple II! I enjoyed learning about the impact of gaming technology when it came to real-life events. Did you know the game BattleZone was used by the US Army to train Tank Pilots? This whole experience was so nostalgic, making it #3 on our list of coolest places to visit in Texas.
After our adventures in the city, it was time to find must-eats in Frisco, Texas.
Must-Try Food in Texas
No one ever says no to brunch, especially when it’s THIS good! You’ll want to make a reservation at @thecommontabletx ! It’s such an Instagramable spot with photography and paintings of music industry greats! Not to mention, the food is off the chain! I ordered the cheddar grits, and those alone make this #4 on the list of places to visit in Texas! This next spot is a hidden gem perfect for a couple’s night out on the town.
Dinner and a Show!
The Glen restaurant is aesthetically gorgeous, full of delicious food and live entertainment! As soon as you walk in, you’re met with beautiful towering trees and lush florals that make it the perfect photo-op. We visited on a weekend, and there was a Live DJ and an Aerial artist with a fire show! Yes, you read that right, a fire show!!
They offer fresh and chef-curated seafood specialties, so I had to try the Lobster Summer Salad with Lobster tail, avocado, mango, heirloom cherry tomatoes, baby field greens, and champagne vinaigrette. You can see our walkthrough of @theglenrestaurant on my stories here. This delicious dinner paired with the unforgettable show, made it #5 on our list of places to visit in Texas.
