Family-Friendly Backyard Inspo
When we bought our home, my husband promised me we’d build the backyard oasis of our dreams. 4 years later we’ve finished our family-friendly backyard makeover with 3 backyard patio ideas that just make sense.
You can catch the before and after of our pool area in my Reel here, but let me share the whole backyard remodel starting with our dinner area!
1. Hosting & Dinner Area
If you know me, you know I love to host friends and family for all occasions! We recently kicked off Memorial Day weekend with an intimate dinner party at our home—swimming, sunshine, and soul food! I made homemade mac & cheese, salmon, Caesar salad, dinner rolls, and peach cobbler which I share in my Reel here.
I love this area because while the kids splash in the pool and cool off, the grownups can relax and catch up. We also have a fire pit so we can end the night gathered around and enjoying some sweet treats! I truly love hosting and creating special moments like these, making this one of my favorite 3 backyard patio ideas.
Whether it’s practicing self-care with a good book and blanket or setting up the projector outdoors to have a movie night, it was my mission to build a cozy corner which is next up on the list of 3 backyard patio ideas!
2. Cozy Corner
During the day, I love to go out there and enjoy a good book but while I was planning my cozy corner I realized there was something missing…. SHADE. Luckily, I found Sunnydaze Decor Patio umbrella which has a built-in vent in the canopy to ensure it’s stable in the wind and cooler in the heat! It’s been so easy to move it around, for when we need some extra shade around the dinner table, or by the pool. 3. Putting Green
I was a bit skeptical about this next backyard patio idea, but it has been such a great addition! My husband threw in a putting green as he’s a golf lover and it really completed the whole space! Not only does my husband enjoy coming out here to practice his golf game, but it’s beautiful because all three kids have picked up putting including Brielle.
Throughout this backyard remodel we have gone through ups and downs of finding the right team, dealing with delays, disappointments, and going back to the drawing board… but through it all The Lord brought us to this sweet moment. I am in love with our family-friendly backyard makeover and these 3 backyard patio ideas worked out magically!
