Hi guys! Yesterday I shared my recipe and video tutorial on how to make the cake and mini cakes for my Valentine’s Day dessert station. Today I am going to show you how to make the rice krispy hearts.
So this was actually my very first time making rice krispy treats and I have to say it was easy and fun! You’ll only need 5 ingredients to pull this off! Even the most novice of bakers can do this!
Here’s the RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
- 1.5 STICKS OF BUTTER
- 11 CUPS OF MINI MARSHMALLOWS
- 1 TEASPOON OF VANILLA EXTRACT
- 1/4 TEASPOON OF SALT
- 9 CUPS OF RICE KRISPY TREATS
DIRECTIONS:
- Line a 17 x 12 inch baking pan with parchment paper. Lightly grease the parchment paper with cooking spray. Set aside.
- Melt the butter over medium heat in a large sauce pan. Add the marshmallows. Stir the mixture until all the marshmallows are completely melted.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla and salt. Finally fold in the cereal.
- Transfer mixture to prepared baking dish. Gently pat the mixture to fit the pan with a spatula.
- Allow the treats to set for at least an hour but preferably over night.
- Cut our hearts using a heart-shaped cookie cutter.
- Melt pink candy melts according to package and transfer warm melted candy into a piping bag. Clip the top of the icing bag and drizzle the hearts.
