An After Hours Event for Sweethearts
My husband completely outdid himself for Valentine’s y’all! Kudos to Errol! Being the Disneyland fanatic that I am, he surprised me with an evening out at Disneyland’s Sweetheart’s Night! Disneyland closes early for lovers with an after hours separately ticketed event on the nights before Valentine’s Day. The night includes fireworks, dancing at a Royal Ball with your favorite Disney couples, photo ops, romantically-themed eats and treats as well as access to all the rides after hours! Date Night at Disneyland was beyond magical.
This was an answer to my prayers literally. Errol and I used to argue about dates. I would get so upset that he never planned any. He complained that when he did plan something I was unhappy with it and changed it. One day the Lord got my attention and directed me to stop fighting with my husband about who planned dates. God showed me my husband’s heart: that he loved me, enjoyed the dates and that it didn’t matter who planned them. So I backed up off my man thanks to Jesus LOL. But I still prayed and asked God to help Errol be more romantic and I am seeing the fruit of my prayers. I am sure Errol was praying for me as well and thanked God I was putting less pressure on him. All month long he has planned several dates and sent me flowers.
Our date night at Disneyland also included an overnight stay at a hotel with a babysitter there to watch all three kids while we partied till 1 A.M.!! We really needed to escape the kids and be kids ourselves. The fireworks, sweet treats, royal ball and my husband’s undivided attention truly brought on goosebumps and tummy flutters!
TIPS AND TAKEAWAYS
- Be sure to get there on time or you’ll miss the fireworks show which starts promptly at 9:30.
- Dress warmly. Even in SoCal it gets very chilly at night this time of year.
- Catch the beginning of the Royal Ball! I don’t want to spoil it but I’ll say it was fun and entertaining and you wouldn’t want to miss that!

I was seeing this event on social media and I honestly had no clue that Disneyland had these awesome events. It’s so cute and perfect for all the lovebirds that love Disneyland. I’m thinking of taking the kids this year because I haven’t been back in over 3 years now. I miss it š
