How we used KidCo safety products to baby-proof our home! post thumbnail image

So many of you know our story. We were done having kids once Bryce was born. We figured we have two boys that are 18-months apart and we would get through all the hard things like weaning, sleepless nights and potty-training within a year period of one child to the other. Then we could start reclaiming our time LOL! Right when we were just at the point of “retirement,” and both boys were in school full time God softened our hearts and gave us the desire to try for a third baby.

By this point, we had already gotten rid of most of the baby-proofing items we used for the boys. Now that Brielle is not just crawling but also walking and in the full throws of “exploration,” we knew it was time to invest in some home-safety precautions! She turned 10 months this week and thanks to KidCo we are so glad we have some tools to keep her out of harms way.

Pressure Mount Safety Gate

My husband installed KidCo’s pressure mount baby-gate in Brielle’s room where she can play safely. The assembly was easy and took little time. We need the gate to keep Brielle from walking or crawling to the boys room where there are tiny Legos on the floor regularly that she likes to try and eat! Not to mention she enjoys knocking down whatever they have poured their heart and souls into building! They’re tired of it and were too happy to quarantine her in her bedroom LOL! Most importantly keeping her in her room also keeps her from wandering into the laundry area where we store cleaning products she shouldn’t have access to.

Next, we needed locks on the kitchen cabinets because Brielle enjoys opening the cabinets and dumping all the cups and bowls out, or trying to eat any paper products stored. Most importantly we need to keep her from underneath the kitchen sink where the cleaning products are stored. It’s kind of adorable to see her little frustration with being unable to open the cabinets any longer. Sorry Brie-Brie.

Electrical Outlet Caps

We were missing a ton of electrical outlet caps so it was nice to go throughout the house and seal up every single empty outlet. You never know!
